Same day printing in Sydney: what is realistic?
Overnight printing is real — if the artwork is ready and the job suits the machines. Here is what we can honestly turn around same day at Moorebank, and what needs longer.
The email usually lands at 9am: trade show Thursday, event tonight, builder starts Monday — and printing is the last thing on the list. Same-day printing in Sydney is genuinely possible, but only when two things line up: the job suits a digital press, and the artwork is ready the moment you hit send. Here is the honest version from our Moorebank studio — what we can run overnight, what needs 48 hours or more, and the one thing that almost always eats the clock.
What we can genuinely print same day
- Business cards and stationery. Print-ready cards can be printed, cut and ready for pickup the same day (from $82). The cutting queue is the only variable — mid-morning jobs beat 4pm panic jobs.
- Flyers, DLs and leaflets. Digital runs of a few thousand print and trim in hours (from $167). Folding or special finishing adds time, so tell us the deadline first and we will plan backwards from it.
- Posters. Large-format posters print in minutes once the file is right (from $212). Same day is normal; lamination adds a few hours of drying and handling.
- Stickers and labels. Sheet stickers and simple labels are a same-day staple (from $174). Contour-cut shapes follow a plotter path, so allow extra hours for those.
- Corflute signs and site boards. Print, trim, eyelets — done same day when you need a board for tomorrow's site start or open home.
What honestly needs 48 hours or more
- Apparel. Tees and polos need blanks on the shelf, screens burned or transfers produced first. Same-day tees are rare; 48 hours is the realistic promise (see our DTF vs screen printing guide for why setup takes time).
- Large-format finishing. Backdrops, hoardings and pull-up banners need hemming, eyelets or cassette assembly after printing — that finishing queue is where the extra day lives.
- Booklets, bound documents and docket books. Folding, stitching and padding are separate passes after printing, and they cannot be rushed without risking the result.
- Anything with design attached. If the job starts as a conversation rather than a file, add a day minimum — design is what usually eats the clock, not printing.

The one thing that eats the clock: the artwork

- The 400% zoom test decides it fast. Zoom into your logo — pixelated edges mean the file is not print-grade, and rebuilding it takes the time you were trying to save (see logo file formats explained).
- Proofs are free — approving them is your job. We send a proof before anything runs. A proof approved in ten minutes keeps the same-day window alive; one approved at 5pm turns it into tomorrow.
- Send the deadline with the file. "Needed by 4pm today" in the first email lets us slot the job into the rush queue immediately, instead of discovering the deadline three replies later.
