A vehicle wrap is the cheapest advertising space you will ever buy — your car or ute working every traffic light in Liverpool and every car park in Moorebank. The first 72 hours — the fragile window
- No washing for three days. The adhesive is still bonding; suds and pressure lift edges.
- Park in shade or a garage wherever possible — fresh film plus Sydney sun equals early shrink.
- Don't pick at edges even if one looks proud. A lifted corner brought back in the first week is a five-minute fix; after picking, it's a panel.
- No wax, no ceramic, no pressure washers until the film has fully cured.
Everyday habits that add years
pH-neutral car shampoo, microfibre or soft sponge. Ten minutes, once a fortnight, beats every automatic wash you'll ever drive past.
Automatic brush washes are the #1 wrap killer — brushes catch and lift edges. Touchless is fine if it's low-pressure.
High-pressure jets at close range force water under the film — especially on seams and edges. 45° angle, 1m distance.
Sydney UV is the slow fade. A garage, a carport, even the shady side of the job site adds years of colour.
Don't scrub. Warm water and a dedicated bug remover within a few days — baked-on bug acid etches gloss.
No petrol, turps or abrasive compounds on the vinyl. Sticker removers are for glass, not wrap.
Small fixes that save panels
- Monthly edge check — walk the car, feel for lifted edges, especially at mirrors, door handles and wheel arches.
- Lifted edge? Bring it in. A heat-trim and re-seal takes minutes. Ignored, water gets under and the panel print is gone.
